A one-bedroom Irish cottage in Roscommon has been found as the cheapest house sold in the country in 2014. The property, which is located about 90 miles from Dublin, fetched a selling price of only €15,000. It was sold at an auction by Allsop, a company that specialises in foreclosure properties.
Despite its low selling price, the house, which is just over 500 square feet, is surprisingly cosy. It also has parking space, a fireplace, and a backyard with a large garden.
Roben Hoban, directory of auctioneers at Allsop, was quite surprised that such a property was sold at only $20,000 and he called it “a bit of an anomaly.” However, he said that if that is what the people have decided, then $20,000 is going to be the property’s market price.

“We do get properties like that into us where they can’t sell locally. Generally what happens is they would have tried the market first and then come to us, they would have potentially got more than they would have on the open market,” he also explained.
Would you buy it? :)
