I moved to Australia in 2013 and created this blog to help Irish people living in Australia. 10 million visitors later it now has evolved into a job board, flight company and offers support with many services Irish people need when they move to Australia. Pop over to my resources page(irisharoundoz.com/resources) to find every service and product I recommend. Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you here again.

What was Ireland like 60 years ago?

What did the countryside look like?

The following video features scenes of Ireland, captured by a tourist on 16mm film. They were recently shared on YouTube by Michael Rogge, whose channel is a treasure trove of old video from around the world.

Feast your eyes on everyday scenes of a world that’s no more: a boy on his donkey; women walking a country road, some covering their faces with scarves to hide from the camera and many more. The music choice is not the best.

The second video captures the sights and sounds of Dublin in the 1950s. No soundtrack here, just the revving of motors, the chatter of passersby, and the clip clop of horse-drawn carts as they travel down the cobble stone streets.
